10 Things you need to know about chief executive officer of google Sundar Pichai

Sundar Pichai the name which is known to everyone who have a little interest in technology and business. 

He can amaze anyone for sure and at a peak position in a multinational technology giant, folks in Google called him genius.He is none other than Chennai born Sundar Pichai.

1. He did his engineering in Metallurgy, which has no relation with IT after that he worked for a while then he move to do MBA from the Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania which changed his fortunes. Before joining Google, he did management consulting with McKinsey & Company.

2. His first assignment at Google was web browser extension called Google Toolbar.  Later he suggested for own web browser in 2004, earlier the idea was not taken seriously but that later its change the history.

3. Under Pichai’s leadership Google developed 3 new versions of the Android operating system, Jelly Bean, KitKat and the latest, Lollipop, which cover around 70% of the smartphone market.

4. Sundar, is from Chennai (India) and born in a middle class family . He is an alumnus of IIT Kharagpur, where he met his life partner Anjali, who stays with him at Los Altos in California along with their two children.

5. He is very sharp and has extraordinary numerical recalling, he can easily remembered the number dial.

6. He is very down to earth, soft skilled with friendly nature. A sport enthusiast and among few popular bosses in Google.

7. His father, an electrical engineer, had to save for three years to buy the family a new scooter, but made sure Pichai and his brother had the best education the family could afford, at Padma Seshadri Bala Bhavan.

8. He was approached by Twitter to lead Product, Google manage to counter offer to Pichai and he ultimately declined the offer.

9. He was also rumored to be in the fray to replace Steve Ballmer as Microsoft’s CEO, before it went to Satya Nadella.

10. Maarten Hooft who worked at Google for six years said  “the difference between Page and Pichai is that Larry can take on that blue sky vision. He's not afraid of setting an audacious goal. Whereas I think Sundar is more of a great operator. While Larry and Sergey have these visions and can start these initiatives, I think it's Sundar that's the guy that can just get it done. He can assemble the team, he can appoint the right people, and he's the one that makes it happen”.
